Modern 14 C12M 2022 (14″ FHD, Intel i5-1235U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD)

Although late, the Modern 14 C12M is finally available for pre-order in Nepal. The laptop was announced last year together with its 15-inch sibling. So, let’s get into the specs, features, latest price, and availability of MSI Modern Series 2022 (14, 15) in Nepal.

Design and Display

As always, there are two laptops under the Modern Series 2022. First is the more pocketable Modern 14 (C12M), which MSI offers in three colorways — Classic Black, Urban Silver, and Beige Rose. The other is the Modern 15 (B12M)—  the same laptop as the Modern 14 but with a bigger screen. It also looks more suited for office settings because of the Classic Black and Star Blue finishes.

The two laptops feature an IPS screen running at FHD resolution. They feature a 180° hinge that lets you lay the screen flat and flip the display using the Flip-n-Share function. MSI Modern series (2022) comes in a chassis with military-grade MIL-STD-810 certification.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, you can choose between two 12th Gen Intel “Alder Lake’’ processors — Core i5-1235U and Core i7-1255U. The latter even boasts a 2x performance boost compared to its predecessor, thanks to hybrid 10-core architecture. As for memory, the Modern 14 C12M and Modern 15 B12M ship with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200 MHz. Likewise, you get an M.2 slot for NVMe PCIe Gen 3 SSD.

The 2022 Modern Series laptops come with a full-size keyboard with white backlighting. You even get a dedicated number pad on the Modern 15. The two laptops have the same set of ports. You get four USB ports, including a Type-C with DP and PD charging, a MicroSD card reader, an HDMI, and an audio jack.

MSI Modern 14 and 15 (2022) draw power from 3-cell 39.3 and 53.8 Whr batteries that charge at 65W. Their audio setup includes two 2W speakers with Hi-Res Audio certification.
