Lenovo has refreshed its budget-friendly IdeaPad series with Intel’s latest 14th Gen processors, and the new IdeaPad Slim 3 (2024) is now available in Nepal. It is packed with the Core 5 120U CPU and has a full HD IPS touch display,8GB DDR5 RAM. Talking about the display part, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IRU9 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS 16:9 touch display. The panel has a color accuracy of 45% NTSC which is good enogh for daily usage like browsing and content consumption. The panel also has a 60Hz refresh rate.
Coming to the build part, the laptop has a simple plastic chassis with a slim profile measuring just 17.9mm in thickness and weighing around 1.62 kg. Although, being lightweight it feels solid enough for regular commute and everyday use. You also get a backlit keyboard, which is a nice bonus for working in low-light environments, although there’s no fingerprint reader included.
Under the hood, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is powered by the latest from Intel the Intel Core 5-120U processor from Intel’s 14th Gen lineup. This is a 10-core (2P + 8E), 12-thread chip that can clocks up to 5.0GHz, offering a good mix of efficiency and performance for everyday task.
The laptop is paired with 8GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, but here the RAM is soldered and not upgradeable, although 16GB is quite adequate for most mainstream workloads. For storage, you get a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
Powering the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a 47Wh battery, which can deliver around 6 to 7 hours of normal usage such as web browsing and video playback. The laptop also supports Lenovos Rapid Charge Boost, meaning you can get a quick power-up when you’re short on time.
In terms of connectivity, the laptop covers all the basics ports you get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 and for port selection you get 2x USB-A, 1x USB-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort, an HDMI 1.4, 3.5mm headphone jack, SD card reader, and a power connector. While it misses out on Thunderbolt, the overall port selection is solid for a mid-range Windows laptop.
