HP has launched new midrange laptops in its refreshed OmniBook series. This includes the standard OmniBook 5 with AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 340 and a higher-end variant with the Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU. In Nepal, we have the Ryzen AI 7 350. So, without further ado, let’s head into the specs, design, features, and expected price of the HP OmniBook 5 series in Nepal in this article.
Starting with the display, the HP OmniBook 5 features a huge 16-inch Touch IPS screen with a resolution of (1920 x 1200) pixels, which has a tall 16:10 aspect ratio, and 62.5% sRGB colors. The display also has an anti-fingerprint coating, but visibility may be limited in bright outdoor settings since it can reach up to 300 nits of brightness.
In terms of portability, the HP OmniBook 5 weighs 1.79 kg and measures 18.6 mm thick. For a 16-inch laptop, the weight and dimensions are fairly standard. HP has also used recycled metal for the lid, keyboard frame, and hinge cap. And since it’s a big 16-inch laptop, this guy also has a dedicated numpad.
For the performance, the HP OmniBook 5 comes with AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 300 series processors. The Omnibook 5 lineup includes two variants of this Ryzen AI 300 chip, one with the Ryzen AI 5 340 and another with the Ryzen AI 7 350, both with up to 50 TOPS of NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for handling AI-related tasks. In Nepal, we have only the Ryzen AI 7 340 with 8 cores and 16 threads with a max frequency of 5.0 GHz.
This processor is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, which is soldered and not user-upgradable. For storage, it comes with a 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, with no mention of additional drive slots.
For graphics , this guy relies on integrated AMD Radeon 860M (8 cores) graphics on the Ryzen 7 variant and Radeon 840M (4 cores) graphics on the Ryzen 5 varient. While this GPUs are not designed for gaming, it should handle basic task and light gaming in titles like Valorant at lower settings.
Talking about the connectivity, the HP OmniBook 5 includes a wide range of ports and wireless connection option. The laptop features two USB-C, two USB-A, and a full-sized HDMI 2.1 port and for audio there is a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack and dual speakers. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also features a 1080p FHD IR camera for video calls, along with dual-array microphones.
Moving on, the HP OmniBook 5 is equipped with a 59 Wh battery. While HP doesn’t provide specific endurance claims, the laptop should last for atlest a single day of moderate use. And, For charging, it supports HP Fast Charge, and with the included 65W USB-C adapter.
