There was a buzz going around that Dell was planning to update its Macbook competitor with the Snapdragon X series processor. And, update they did — to five of their lineups! However, in this article, we will only discuss the Dell XPS 13 9345 along with its potential price in Nepal.

Dell XPS 13 9345 Overview

I mentioned that the Snapdragon X-powered laptop would go with the 9345 code number when I covered the rumours on this laptop. And it rumour stands true, however, the company does not outright mention it. You can see it on their website slug though.

Meanwhile, the laptop is only available in a single configuration as of now. But it appears, the company will be shipping it in more variants in the future. That being said, let’s get into further details about the Dell XPS 13 with the Snapdragon X processor.

Design and Display

The latest update of the Dell XPS 13 does not deviate much from its Intel counterpart. It is still as light, compact, and premium as ever. The seamless glass touchpad is still there, and so is the function row with touch controls. This laptop is crafted with machined aluminium and ships in a single graphite colour option.

On the front, this laptop has a 13.4-inch OLED screen with a sharp 3K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. In other words, display with minimal bezels. Apart from that, the Dell XPS 13 9345 also dons Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the screen for added protection.

Performance

Previously, there was confusion about which Snapdragon X processor the American laptop maker would go with. But now we know. It is the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100. It is the second weakest chip available in the series. Regardless, it allows you to run AI tasks more efficiently with NPU performance of 45 TOPS and there is a whole suite of it. Other than that, this silicon has 12 cores, 42MB total cache, and a dual-core boost of 4.0 GHz.

As expected, the Dell XPS 9345 ships with 16GB memory. It is an LPDDR5x RAM with 8,448 MHz frequency baked into the board. Hence, there will not be any upgrades on this laptop. In terms of storage, you get a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD while the system boots on Windows 11 for Arm. Hopefully, more configurations like its Intel variant will soon be available.

Battery and the rest

In the tank, it has a 3-cell 55Wh battery and ships with a 60W charger in the box. Likewise, the port options are rather limited with just two full-function USB4s with data transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps. In the meantime, you get WiFi 7 and Bluetooth v5.4 support for wireless connectivity.
